Sufra is a calorie tracker you share with the people you eat with. This page says what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to take it back. The short version: your tables see your meals, your weight and your BMI; nobody else sees anything, and we don’t sell or advertise with your data.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time code and to send you invitations you asked for.
- Your name and, if you add one, your photo, so the people at your tables know whose plate they’re looking at.
- Your meals: the photos you take, the words you write, the numbers you enter, and when you ate. To show them to you and your tables, and to estimate their calories and macros.
- Your plan details: sex, year of birth, height, weight and activity. Only to work out your daily target and show your progress.
- Meal packs: which pack, who bought it and when, so a table’s meals are counted correctly. Card details go to Polar, our Merchant of Record, never to us.
Who can see what
The people at your tables see the meals you log there, the reactions on them, your name and photo, how your days sit against your own target, your weight and your BMI. Inside a family table, that is how you keep each other going. Your height can be worked out from those two numbers; your age, activity and goal pace cannot, and they never see them.
Only you see your age and the details of your plan. There is no public profile and nothing is shared outside the tables you join.
Estimates
When you ask for an estimate, the photo and words for that meal are sent to a service provider that analyses images and text, solely to produce that estimate. They aren’t used to identify you.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to host our infrastructure, store photos, send email and estimate meals. They handle data only on our behalf and only for those purposes. A current list is available on request. Payments are the exception, named because they act as the seller: Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our Merchant of Record, processes meal pack purchases under its own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your data while you use Sufra. You can delete any meal at any time; it disappears from your journal and from every table. Leaving a table stops your meals showing there. To delete your account and everything in it, write to us at hello@sufra.family from the email you sign in with. Records of payments are kept as long as the law requires.
Children
Sufra is meant for people aged 13 and over. A family may include teenagers; their weight and body details stay private to them, as everyone’s do.
Changes and questions
If this page changes in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Questions are welcome at hello@sufra.family.
